Nissan Motors also announces hike in prices from January 2014
With announcement of price hiking by major car making companies like Audi, BMW, Hyundai, MSIL and others, Japanese auto giant Nissan Motors has also announced that it will hike the prices of its vehicle up to 4 percent from January 2014. The price hike will impact on all vehicles of company including Micra and Terrano. Like other car manufacturing sources of company said that the decision of price hike has been taken to overcome the increasing cost of production due to declining value of rupee.
According to sources of company the new customers of Nissan Micra hatchback, Micra Active, mid-sized sedan Sunny, MPV Evalia and SUV Terrano. Speaking on the decision of price hike Mr. Richard D Spitzer, Acting Chief Operating Office, Hover Automotive India (Nissan’s National Sales Company) said that though value of rupee has witnessed stability during recent time but due to high exchange rate cost of production has increased due to which it has become necessary for company to hike the prices of its vehicles.
Moving ahead he also added that the hike in price is normal and company is sure that it will influence customers from buying Nissan products which promises them of provide superior quality of products at reasonable prices. At present the major vehicles sold under the flagship of Nissan Motors include Micra, Sunny, Evalia, Terrano and X-Trail. The prices of all these vehicles fall in price range of Rs. 4.9 lakh to Rs. 26.96 lakh (ex-showroom price in New Delhi).
