Nissan, Renault, Honda, all set to pitch in Maruti-rival-cars in India
No doubt, Maruti India cars are the envy of all other car makers in the country. It is obvious that no other car maker could match the sales of Maruti Alto 800 in the small car segment or the Maruti Swift or Swift Dzire or say Maruti Ertiga in the MPV segment. Though there have been previous attempts by car makers to outnumber Maruti car sales but all attempts till date were in vain. Now, that the circumstances have changed and Indian car buyers has shown confidence in other cars and car brands as well, of which Renault Duster is the best example other car makers too seem to be soon making an a similar attempt.

In the race of those trying this are Nissan India, Renault primarily. But there has been another name added recently and this is Honda. Where Nissan is soon to launch Datsun low cost cars in the country, Renault has already captured the compact SUV market with the Dacia brand in the form of rebadged Dacia Duster. Meanwhile, it seems that Honda will join this race with the Honda Amaze compact sedan on April 11 and soon after it will be launching more diesel cars. Notably, Honda cars are considered to be high performance highly dependable cars in India by Indian car buyers but it went down in terms of sales only because Honda cars in India were offered in petrol only.
Now that the car maker is soon to launch diesel Honda cars such as the Amaze, Honda City, Honda Jazz, Honda Brio and other cars, it seems that Maruti India will be the one that will be the most affected. In addition to these cars, it is believe that Honda will also be launching a Maruti Alto 800 rival car. If there is a small car under Rs 3 lakh by it, then it will be Hyundai Eon, Tata Nano sales that will also be affected besides the Alto 800.
