Nissan sales increase by 11 percent in FY 2012-13, Sunny, Micra best selling Nissan cars

Nissan, Japanese auto maker revealed on Tuesday that the company has recorded growth of 11 percent in sales in the FY 2012-13 in India. In the previous fiscal year (2011-2012), the company did witness the sale of 33,270 units and during current fiscal year, company sold 36,975 units. While briefing about the sales figures, Nissan Motor India also stated that its flagship model Nissan Sunny sedan sales did account for 24,011 units, the sales figure of the premium compact Nissan Micra did account for 11,454 units and MPV Nissan Evalia sales accounted for 1,396 units. Other models including 370z sports car and Teana, X-Trail SUV also did witness a surge in sales.

Kenichiro Yomura (Managing Director and Chief Executive of Nissan Motor India) stated that company has been able to maintain the sales drive in the domestic market and has been able to continue scaling up the operations in line, by focusing on long term strategic goals. He added further that the company has been able to expand its dealer network successfully in previous year and the same fact indicates towards the sincere long-term commitment to the Indian market. Nissan is among those car makers in India that is able to pose decent growth despite of the overall slowdown in the market. Experts assign this growth to the car products by Nissan and it is the consistent demand for Nissan cars in India that has helped it gain a decent 11 percent increase in sales compared to last fiscal.
