Nissan Sylphy is the next sedan by Nissan
India and China both are fast becoming the prime target for auto companies and Japanese car maker Nissan is not an exception to target India. As per the latest updates, Nissan will be launching the recently unveiled new car Nissan Sylphy in India this year or early next year. Nissan is already selling this premium sedan in US under the name Nissan Sentra and after an initial launch in China, the car maker hopes to launch it in 120 other countries including India. Meanwhile, Nissan is also in the process to bring Datsun cars in India. Notably, Datsun is the affordable car maker brand owned by Nissan.

Industry reports further suggest that the Nissan Sentra will be replaced by Nissan Sylphy across the globe including US. However, experts believe that there are little changes on the Sentra that will make it Sylphy. Basically, the changes are on the exteriors and quite a few are there on the inside. As part of the design changes to Sentra, Nissan has put some chrome on the grille and the front and rear bumpers have been given a new shape. The inside of the car has evident wood finishing work done with great craftsmanship. Besides, there are also lots of minor design changes to make Sylphy look somewhat different than Sentra. As per sources China will be getting Sylphy on sale soon.

For the Chinese market, the Sylphy will be powered by a 1.8 L four pot petrol powerplant with a CVT transmission. Whereas the Indian market will get the same K9K diesel with 108 PS on along with the six speedo gearbox with manual shift. The Sylph will be an addition to the lineup that only has Nissan Sunny and Nissan Teana in place right now. Hoped to be positioned above the Sunny, the Sylph will be competing with Chevrolet Cruze that is soon to have a new diesel offering besides Japanese cars Toyota Corolla Altis and Honda Civic.
