Nissan to bring an Electronic Hatchback in India
Recent years have witnessed dynamic move towards the excessive demand for SUVs and hatchbacks in Indian car market due to major car makers have not shown any interest in bringing their electric cars in India, despite of launching in other corners of the world. But, now it seems that scenario is going to change in coming years. According to reports Japanese car maker Nissan Motors is working on bringing its highly appreciated and recognized electronic hybrid hatchback Leaf in Indian car market.

The reports from authentic sources reveal that to find the feasibility of its electric car in market Japanese car maker is planning acquire the help from government and private agencies for conducting a market survey before taking any step ahead in this direction. As according to the sources of company “Nissan Leaf will be part of the pilot project.”

It would be interested to know that Leaf has been one of the successful products by the car maker, more specifically in Japanese and American car market. It is empowered with 107 bhp electronic motor and capable of covering the distance of 170 kms on a single charge, the top models are reported to cover the distance up-to 250 kms when charged fully. The car can be charged through electric outlets located on the road along with re-charging at home. However, for that government will have to make arrangements for its charging either at petrol pumps or will have to make some alternate arrangements.
As far as future of electric vehicles in Indian car market is concerned, so far there is not much interest for such vehicles among the buyers in India, despite of electronic vehicles being launched by domestic car maker M&M and Indo-Japanese car makers Toyota Kirloskar Motors. On the other side going through the concern for eco-friendly vehicles throughout the world government of India had initiated the FAME Scheme in 2015 in which it offers incentives of up-to Rs. 29,000 to the buyers of such bikes and Rs. 1.38 lakh to the buyers of electronic cars.
