Nissan to introduce AMT in its models existing in Indian car market
Going through the success of Automated Manual Transmission System introduced by country’s leading car manufacturing company MSIL in its recently launched Celerio hatchback has paved way for other car makers to follow the same trend in their vehicles. It is now reported that another Japanese car maker Nissan Motors is also going to follow the same technology in its different models being sold in Indian car market.
The existing Micra and Sunny from Nissan Motors are equipped with X-Tronic CVT automatic transmission system which is advanced than AMT system and 4 speed auto boxes introduced by other car manufacturers. The CVT transmission system offered by Nissan is expensive and will not make Micra hatchback to compete with forthcoming versions of Tata Bolt equipped with AMT version.
Going through all these problems Indian alliance of Japanese car maker Nissan India is going to join the AMT flagship, but alike MSIL and Tata Motors company will develop the Automated Manual Transmission system at its own production unit and will not import from Magneti Marelli from Italian manufacturer. If reports are believed to be true that it will mean that the upcoming models of Nissan along with Datsun will be blessed with AMT system.
