Nissan to launch Datsun – Go soon in Indian car market
After successful launch of its highly acclaimed SUV Terrano in Indian car market Japanese car maker is getting ready to launch its least priced hatchback Datsun Go, soon in Indian car market. According to reports Datsun Go will be energized with same 1.2 litre petrol engine that is integrated in Micra, however it will be more fuel efficient as compared to its sibling Micra. Industry experts believe that Datsun Go will be tough contender for hatchback cars introduced by Maruti Suzuki India Limited in Indian market. It is reported that after assessing the response received by customers Nissan will launch diesel variant of Datsun Go also in Indian market.
As it is known that company had unveiled Datsun Go earlier this years and since then speculation was high that company may launch it anytime in Indian car market during this year. It would be important to mention that it is Datsun’s second entry in world automobile as 32 years back Japanese auto giant its precedent DAT-GO. According to sources of company it intends to capitalize 10 percent share of Indian car market by the end of 2017.
Industry experts believe that design of Datsun Go will be similar as unveiled at the beginning of this year based on Nissan’s preferred V Platform, and will be manufactured at company’s production plant located at Chennai. Although no information has been revealed by company about the price of Datsun – Go, but it is expected that it will be launched with price tag of Rs. 4 lakh.
