Nissan To Launch Terra SUV Against Toyota Fortuner

It is reported that Japanese car maker Nissan Motors is going to showcase the full size SUV Terra during the Beijing Motor Show 2018 to be held in April. Recently the images of same were leaked on various car portals. The proposed SUV had been in limelight during the recent times because of its name varying between XTerra a nd Paladin, however now according to the recent images it has been named as Terra.

From the images it is seen that the Terra would be embellished with boxier body to compete against its Japanese rival Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. The front fascia continues to come with the contemporary design philosophy of chrome garnished grille and headlights. The rear portion looks like a big van and equipped with horizontal tail-lamps and chrome work at the tailgate. The images leaked in the cyber space seem to be the entry level variant as the fog lamps are not visible in the images.
 
Under the hood it will be offered with 2.5 litre petrol engine with option of rear wheel and four wheel drive. In the later months it is reported to be offered with 2.3 litre four cylinder diesel engine with two power generation option of 158 bhp and 187 bhp. It is said to be equipped with bunch of comfort, ergonomic and safety features.

It is believed that after unveiling during the Beijing Motor Show the SUV would be launched first in the Chinese market, as far as Indian car market is concerned it is not yet sure whether it would be launched or not. As according to the sources of company it will mainly focus on premium vehicles whereas its subsidiary Datsun will concentrate on budget friendly vehicles in India.
