Nissan to operate independently in Indian car market

Finally the collaboration between Japanese car maker Nissan Motors and Hover Automotive India limited came to end today. It is reported that company will now sale, market and distribute all its products through its Indian Subsidiary Nissan Motor India Private Limited (NMIPL) within the country. Prior to this all these activities were performed by Hover Automotive India (HAI). The new announcement of Nissan Motors will come with immediate effect from February 14, 2014.

According to Mr. Kenichiro Yomura, Nissan President, India Operations, Nissan has been in Indian car market from long time and now the time has come when it should look for establishing its own marketing and distribution cells to look after all its operational activities. Mr. Yomura also added that company’s prior responsibility will be ensuring smooth shift from ongoing operations and stay committed towards its customers in delivering qualitative products.

About NMIPL, Nissan started operating its operations through it since 2005, when it launched X-Trail SUV in Indian car market. NMIPL is responsible for looking after all the operational activities taking place at company’s Orgadam plant located at Chennail. In 2008 Nissan decided to transfer all its operations to HAI, but it’s this strategy did not worked as the customers were not satisfied from the services provided by HAI. In other words company’s decision of acquiring services of a middleman did not succeeded in satisfying needs of its customers. Moreover with Nissan now introducing Datsun brand in Indian car market it is speculated that in collaboration with NMIPL it will succeed in satisfying its customers to their full extent.
