Nitin Gadkari Asks For Developing Flex-Fuel Based Vehicles

Addressing the CEOs of the Society of Indian Auto Manufacturers (SIAM), Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Honorable Nitin Gadkari had urged the automakers to develop the vehicles based on the flex-fuel. The minister also urged the car manufacturers to offer six airbags as a standard feature on all the variants of the vehicles.  
 
 
In a tweet, the Minister tweeted “ Met a delegation of the CEOs of SIAM (Society of Indian Auto Manufacturers today. Emphasised on the need for a quick roll-out of Flex-Fuel Vehicles (FFVs) capable of running 100% on ethanol and gasoline in the Indian auto market within a year’s time”.
 
Moving ahead, he also said, that he also asked the automakers to provide six airbags in all the variants of the vehicles in the interest of passenger’s safety.  According to the reports, the Minister recently met a delegation of CEOs of SIAM including the private, commercial, and two-wheelers automobile manufacturers.
 
During the meeting, the delegation discussed the progress of the auto industry amid the global pandemic and requested for the Deferment of the emission-based regulations such as BS-VI phase2,  CAFE Phase 2, OBD regulations for two-wheelers.
