Ola Electrics To Develop Biggest Gigafactory In India

After the announcement of Tesal’s CEO, Elon Musk, to start its operation in India, Ola Electric has started developing the biggest Gigafactory in India. The first pillar stone of the factor was laid recently in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu.  In the words of, Bhavish Agarwal, Founder and CEO of Ola Electric, “This is a proud moment for us as we installed the first pillar of our Gigafactory today. Our Gigafactory will be a major milestone in India’s electrification journey, bringing us closer to making India a global EV hub”.
 
 
With the initial capacity of 5GWh, Ola plans to start its operations by the beginning of the next year and wants to extend its capacity to 100GWh in different phases. recently the company invested in cell and battery technology and has set up its research and development in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
 
The company has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Tamil Nadu to extend its efficiency in manufacturing two-wheelers, four-wheelers and battery cells. Soon the company is also going to organize a product event in July and introduce the new variant of the S1 electric scooter. It is believed that the company might also announce the launch of its upcoming electric car at the event.
