It is reported that the China’s largest SUV manufacturer, The Great Wall Motors is going to make its debut in the Indian car market with two of its best-selling brands Haval and ORA. AS it is known that the Indian automobile industry is shifting toward the use of electric vehicles, but still due to lack of infrastructural facilities and policies by the government, the buyers are hesitating in adopting the electric vehicles. Besides, the other reasons, the pricing of electric vehicles is also one of the reasons which is not impressing the buyers. But, now interestingly it is believed that with the launch of Haval and ORA brands the Indian buyers will start considering the use of EVs, especially the ORA R1 which is regarded as the cheapest electric car across the globe.

 

 

According to reports the Chinese carmaker is going to showcase both these brands during the Indian Auto Expo 2020. Well, speaking about the ORA R1, it is one of the ORA brand vehicles sold by the company. The other two being R2 and iQ. Empowered with 35kW engine, the ORA R1 is reported to deliver an average of 351 km on full charge, which is quite higher than the upcoming Tata Nexon EV and MG EZS which are said to deliver an average of 300 kms. In Chine the price of ORA R1 varies from 59,800 Yuan to 77,800 Yuan, which according to Indian currency ranges between Rs. 6 lakh and Rs. 9 lakh, thus making it is the most economically priced EV in the world.

 

While speaking about the Haval, it is basically a SUV and will compete with MG Hector and Tata Harrier in the Indian car market. It is rumoured that the spies have captured the Haval H6 being tested already on the Indian roads. Besides, these two brands the Great Wall Motors also sales two more brands namely Wey and Great Wall Pick-Up, which are however not expected to be launched in India.
