Over 87,000 Units Of S-Presso And Ecco Recalled By MSIL
The country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited has recalled more than 87,000 units of Mini-SUV S-Presso and Eeco vans due to a suspected defect in the steering rod. In a statement issued by the Indo-Japanese carmaker on July 24, 2023, the defective units of these vehicles were manufactured during the last two years. The company has said that the Maruti dealers across the country will contact the buyers of these units and will resolve the issue, if found, without any charges.

The statement issued by the company read “It is suspected that there is a possible defect in a part of steering tie rod, used in such vehicles, which in a rare case, may break and affect vehicle steerability and handling.” The units of S-Presso and Eeco recalled were manufactured between July 5, 2021, and February 2023.
Speaking about Eeco Van, it is one of the best-selling vans in the country. It was launched back in 2010 and since then the company has sold out over 10 lakh units of the van. It receives power from a 1.2-litre advanced K-series dual-jet, dual VVT engine, generating the power of 80.76 PS and the torque of 71.65 PS. It delivers an average of 20.20 kmpl. It is also available in the S-CNG variant and offers an average of 27.05 km/kg.
The mini-SUV S-Presso was launched in 2019, It is powered by the same 1.0-litre petrol engine that is offered in the Alto K10 hatchback. The mini SUV is the best option for buyers looking to upgrade from a hatchback to a bigger car.
