Refreshed Maruti Suzuki Swift launched with price tag of Rs. 4.42 lakh (ex-showroom price)
Since its inception in May 2005, Marutu Suzuki Swift has been one of the highly acclaimed hatchbacks launched by country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited. The major change in hatchback was introduced in 2011, since then after the span of almost three year the hatchback has once undergone the cosmetic changes followed by improved fuel efficiency performance. The base variant of refreshed hatchback has been launched with price tag of Rs. 4.42 lakh (ex-showroom price in New Delhi) followed by the price of Rs. 6.95 lakh (ex-showroom price in New Delhi) for the top end variant.

The refreshed has been launched in both petrol and diesel variants continuing the same engine configurations. The petrol variant is empowered with 1197cc, K series VVT engine boosting the power of 84 bhp and torque of 1154Nm, but this time with improved fuel efficiency of 20. Kmpl, which is 9.67 percent higher than the erstwhile version of Swift. On the other side diesel variant is offered with 1248 cc, DDiS diesel engine producing the power of 75 bhp and torque of 190Nm. Alike petrol variant diesel variant has been also developed to deliver better fuel efficiency than compared to outgoing version. This time the diesel variant will deliver an average of 25.2 kmpl which is about 10 percent higher than. Commenting on the improved fuel performance sources of company said that their experts have worked hard on improving engine hardware for enhancing thermal efficiency, improved engine calibration and minimized frictional losses.
Moving towards the new features offered in refreshed Swift, the top variant now sports push button start, electric retractable wing mirrors along with turn indicators, high quality upholstery, reverse parking sensors, high defined audio system supporting connectivity with Bluetooth, new alloy wheels and many more. The major contenders of new Swift would be Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai Grand i10 and Fiat Punto Evo.
