Renault Captur unveiled

The auto majors are aware of the global market situation and keeping that in mind, they are focusing on SUVs more than any other type of car. Renault unveiled its new car, 2014 Renault Captur Crossover. This one seems to be a perfect amalgamation of versatility with sportiness. The company has kept in mind the requirement of the consumer these days and built Captur under keen surveillance. This one is based on Clio platform, which means a bit of Clio hatchback features will be seen here as well. Right now, the launch date of the car hasn’t been finalized, but according to fresh reports, the car will go in the production later this year. Captur will make its official debut at Geneva Motor Show 2013.

Talking about the heart of Renault Captur, the car is likely to be powered by 900cc TCe90 Energi-3 cylinder turbo petrol mill. After a couple of months of its launch, the car might come with 1.5 litre turbo diesel engine option. if rumors are to be believed, this diesel engine option is already in the pipeline, which means as soon as the petrol version is launched globally, the company will get into the preparation to launch the diesel variant of Captur.

The major competition to 2014 Renault Captur seems to be Ford EcoSport, which is on the verge of its launch in India. EcoSport has similar 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine that makes the SUV running high on performance. Besides the engine, EcoSport will also be giving a neck to neck competition to Captur in terms of appearance. Captur is 4.12 meters in length, while EcoSport comes under sub 4-meter category. On the whole, Captur does seem an interesting Crossover for the market, but with EcoSport already present in international car bazaar, it would be a tough fight for Captur after its launch.
