Renault Dacia Duster set to be unveiled in Britain soon, booking started
Earlier this year the French auto honcho Renault unveiled its compact SUV, Duster at the 11th Auto Expo in New Delhi, the new SUV is yet to see the light of day in India. But as per fresh speculations, Dacia is geared up to reveal Duster in the United Kingdom on June 28th, 2012. Dacia has already commenced the pre-launch marketing activities in the United Kingdom to make the SUV popular before it hits the UK market. The company has started roping in bookings for Duster at a token amount of a meager GBP 100 (Rs 8,200).

Dacia, the Romanian brand will launch Duster SUV in two wheel drive as well as four wheel drive options in UK. Duster SUV will be manufactured at the Renault-Duster Oragadam plant, near Chennai, therefore it is clear that India will be the export base for the upcoming car. Dacia has kept the Duster price under the wraps, but the auto cos has hinted that Duster’s price will fall in the range of less than £10,000 (which is around Rs 8 lakh) for the front wheel drive trim levels, however the four wheel drive trim will be tagged at less than £12,500 (which is approximately 10 lakh).

Dacia badged Duster will sport a different grille when compared to the Renault badged Duster SUV. Dacia Duster’s first model is expected to hit the UK dealerships in the beginning of next year around January.

After launching three new cars in India, Renault hopes to render Duster SUV in the domestic market around the festive season of Diwali. However the pricing could be different for the Indian car market, but if Renault keeps the Duster price close to UK price, then it could be a different story altogether. Duster’s aggressive pricing can bring it in a complete win win situation in the thriving Indian auto market. So let’s wait and watch if Duster could help fueling Renault’s sales in India.
