French car biggie, Renault is developing a car based on Mercedes Benz luxury car platform. With this it is certain that Renault is thinking of building its presence in the luxury car segment across globe. Though the development is in the early stages but a significant progress has been achieved already and it would not be an exaggeration if Renault could bring in the car soon. Notably, Renault is also helping Daimler AG in the development of a smart small car and enroute this project, the French biggie is assessing whether a Mercedes luxury car platform can be used by it. In India Renault is soon to add a SUV Renault Duster and probably a small car Renault Modus as the fifth offering this year. It is rumored that the very car which is being developed on Mercedes platform could make an entry in India.
