Renault Duster bags 1k bookings prior to the launch

French automaker Renault is all set to launch its second SUV offering – Renault Duster in India on July 4. Meanwhile, the SUV has already bagged bookings to the tune of 1000 units as soon as Renault dealers started taking bookings this week. The fourth car by Renault India, Duster SUV is believed to do wonder to the brand and it has started showing up its popularity even before the launch. The Renault Duster SUV price which is expected to land around Rs 7 lakh to Rs 8 lakh for the entry level petrol and diesel variants respectively while the top variant Renault Duster RxZ price will be around Rs 12 lakh.

This way, Duster will be affecting the sales of already established SUVs such as Mahindra Scorpio, Tata Safari and the Mahindra XUV 500 in the top category as well as will cover the entry level SUV as well as high end SUV class as well. The Duster will be setting in a new trend in the country and will offer SUVs to those who intend to buy a sedan. Thus the Duster will also be eating away a lot of share of sedans in India as well. On the other hand, Duster is said to be the most aggressively priced Renault car in the country and as per the sources, despite of being studded with lots of features, the Duster SUV will take a price tag similar to a sedan.

Now that the Duster launch is about to happen on July 4, Ford India and Maruti should be hurrying up things to launch Ford EcoSport and Maruti XA Alpha respectively. It is also expected that Duster car will have the advantage of arriving first and it will also have ample time before any of its rivals arrive and dampen its prospects.
