Renault Duster based Nissan Terrano to be priced at Rs 8.90 lakh
After receiving tremendous response for compact SUV Renault Duster, Renault's partner Nissan is also going to dive into the compact sports utility vehicle segment. The company will launch the Duster based SUV which is called the Nissan Terrano. The Japanese auto giant has also revealed a sketch of this one before some time and it will soon go under production. The new Nissan Terrane price for Indian auto market has also been revealed. It will be offered at starting price of Rs 8.90 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi).
Renault Duster's clone Terrano compact SUV will be offered with diesel engine choice only and it will have a 1.5 litre diesel engine under the hood that belts out peak power of 85 PS and top torque of 200. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. As per ARAI certificates the new Terrano will offer a mileage of 20.5 kmpl similar to the Duster. From features wise, four variants will offered which are XL, XL (O), XV and XV premium. To provide better safety to driver, the company will provide all variants of the Terrano SUV with driver side airbag as standard feature.
In terms of body design the new Terrano SUV will become different to the Duster. It will have new cosmetic changes at whole body including smoked headlights, new bumper, new front grille, new alloy wheels and new tail lights, fabric seats. The company will offer improved premium features in successor variants of the vehicle, but the base variant XL will be only Rs 17000 costlier than base trim of the Duster. In domestic market, the new compact SUV by Nissan will be a major competitor of Ford Ecosport, Mahindra Scorpio and upcoming Maruti XA Alpha.
