Renault Duster captured under testing again, to be launched in June 2012
Renault Duster, one of the most awaited crossover, in the Indian auto market, is speculated to hit the Indian roads very soon. The Indian unit of the French car maker Renault is currently in the final stage of its launch, carrying the final road tests of the vehicle in Chennai. The Duster model has been spotted a couple of times on a road test near Nissan – Renault’s joint manufacturing plant in Chennai, indicating towards its early launch in the country.

The company has already announced that it will be rolling-out the Renault Duster SUV in the country in the month of June 2012. The Duster model will be initially launched in a two wheel drive (2WD) version only, which will be followed by an all wheel drive (4WD) version, next year. Powered by a 1.5-litre DCI diesel engine, the MUV will be offered in two engine power options including 90 BHP and a 108 PS.

The new Renault Duster model will be rolled-out in five trims in the Indian market, with a varying degree of feature combinations. The major attractions of the car in terms of features including ABS (Antilock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution), dual airbags, brake assist, keyless entry, rear parking sensors and 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Renault Crossover is widely expected to be shelved in the price segment of Rs 8 to 10 lakh in the Indian market, where it will be competing with the likes of segment leader Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, Tata Aria, and upcoming models like Ford EcoSport and Maruti Ertiga.
The launch of Renault Duster will be a part of company’s plan of having as many as 5 vehicle models in its Indian portfolio. The company has already launched premium sedan Fluence, luxury SUV Koleos and compact car Pulse in the Indian market.
