Renault Duster export to UK and Ireland begins

Renault India climbed the ladder of success in the Indian car bazaar pretty quickly as soon as it launched its compact SUV, Renault Duster. The car received an overwhelming response from its fans and even the industry gurus. Recently, the company triggered the exports of Renault Duster to other markets as well. The firm has started exporting this superb SUV to Ireland and United Kingdom from Ennore port located in Chennai.

In UK and Ireland, Renault Duster will be sold as Renault Dacia. This compact SUV from Renault is manufactured at the Oragadam facility in Chennai. The plant is in joint collaboration with Nissan. This is the only plant in the world that manufactures Renault Duster in RHD. About 350 Dusters were shipped to UK and the official sales of this one will begin from January 2013.

The Renault Duster or shall we say Dacia will be offered in three trims, namely Access, Ambiance and Laureate beginning from a price tag of 8,995 pounds or Rs. 7.88 lakh. The pre-orders of Duster had already commenced from June 2012 and more than 1000 people had already booked their cars for 100 pounds.

Under the bonnet, the Renault Duster will be powered by either 1.6 litre petrol engine churning out 104HP coupled with five-speed manual transmission or may the 1.5 litre turbo diesel engine producing 108HP mated with six speed manual gearbox. This one will come with a three year or 60000 miles warranty. In last five months, the company has already made 19000 consumers happy in India. The SUV has been doing extremely well in the country and the same kind of response can be expected in UK and Ireland. Hopefully, the SUV will take over the international markets as well.
