Renault Duster gets ready in a new avatar before India launch
The Renault Duster SUV slated for India will be the new version. It is sure now. The French car maker has just given a slight makeover to the Renault Duster in Mexico and it is said that the facelift is an attempt to distinguish the model from the Dacia Duster SUV that is sold in Europe. Notably, the Duster SUV is the second most anticipated SUV in India after Ford Ecosport and is expected to take the entry level SUV segment by storm following its price and specifications.

In order to give it a distinct look, Renault has given the new Duster a new grille, a new air dam, a new pair of headlights, all new alloys and revamped central console inside apart from some changes in the engine configuration making the duster even more pleasing than its predecessor. Notably, the Duster SUV will be the second SUV from Renault after it launched its first SUV Renault Koleos last year. Due to high price, Koleos sales could not pick up but it has in fact created its own niche in the SUV market in India.

The Duster on the other hand has created its own demand even before its launch in India that is still a mystery as some reports suggest it to happen this June while rest of it delays it to this Diwali. Since its showcase at the Auto Expo, the Duster SUV by Renault has set in motion various guesses regarding its India specification and it has been straightly compared to Ford Ecosport SUV. Besides, it has also been compared to Maruti XA Alpha. On the other hand, the new Duster launched in Mexico has a 2 L DOHC petrol engine mated to a six speed gearbox. The 133 hp power engine has a fuel efficiency of 15 kmpl and is also available in a four speed automatic version. In India, this same configuration is expected to be released.

I think in future Renault Duster will increase sale in India. Because Renault duster look is similar with XUV 500, and price range is low than XUV 500.
