Renault Duster kisses the mark of one lakh units sold
Renault India Pvt. Ltd, the Indian alliance of French car maker Renault has achieved the milestone of selling out 1 lakh units of its SUV Duster in the Indian car market within the span of two years. Addressing the celebration event of achieving the milestone of 1 lakh units Mr. Sumit Sawhney, CEO and M.D. said that Renault Duster has developed a strong platform for itself and developed an independent segment of its prospective buyers. Renault Duster has set a benchmark for other SUV’s in Indian car market. In the words of Mr. Sawhney the increasing sales of Duster in Indian car market is also playing an appreciating role in extending the sales of Duster in global market. Mr. Sawhney also extended his thanks to buyers of Duster in India for making it as one of the most successful SUV’s in country.
The version of Renault Duster sold in Indian car market is offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant is energized with 1.6 litre petrol engine developing the power of 102 PS at 5850 rpm and torque of 145 Nm at 3750 rpm and coated with five manual gearbox. The diesel variant on the other side is equipped with 1.5 litre dCi engine and is available with two power options one developing the power of 85 PS at 3750 rpm and torque of 200 Nm at 1900 rpm and the other one developing the power of 110PS at 3900 rpm and torque of 248 Nm at 2250 rpm. The model developing the power of 85 PS is coated with five speed manual gearbox, whereas the model generating the power of 110 PS is offered with six speed manual transmission system.
With an objective to celebrate the occasion of reaching this milestone Renault has announced to launch Duster 1 Lakh Limited Edition and which would be sold out only during the ongoing month of June. The limited edition will be offered with price tag of Rs. 9.9 lakh and only limited units of this edition will be sold out in market. it would be interested to know that in the year 2013 Renault Duster was honored with J.D. Power Asia Pacific Indian Initial Quality Study (IQS) for its superior performance.
