Renault Duster launch on July 4, booking to begin this week

The Renault Duster SUV that will be unlocking the true potential in the compact SUV segment in India is expected to be launched on July 4. The Duster SUV will be the fourth offering by the French car maker Renault and it is expected that after the initial lack of success of Renault Koleos SUV, the Duster will be a hit. Two factors will favor the Duster SUV by Renault. First is the Duster price that is expected to remain around Rs 7-8 lakh and another is its feature rich nature. The Duster launch was expected to be in mid July earlier but the latest reports suggest it to hit the Indian roads on the coming July 4. It is expected that Renault will commence bookings this week. However, the company has not made any official announcement about the much awaited launch of the year.

The Ford Ecosport and Maruti XA Alpha rival SUV Duster is expected to eat a lot of share of Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari as well. By being the second in the compact SUV after Premier Rio SUV, this SUV is believed to get an advantage over the Ecosport as well as XA Alpha of being served first. Auto industry experts believe that the Ecosport SUV will become the best selling SUV in India as soon as it is launched near Diwali. Also, the five seater capacity of Duster will be a big minus for it when other SUVs offer comfortable seating for at least seven people. However, the engine and other configuration apart from the features are believed to make the Duster SUV a must buy in the SUV market in India.

To be offered in two petrol and four diesel trims, the Duster will not be wanting power as it will have 102 PS on petrol and an option of 85 PS or 100 PS power on diesel. The power output will be at low rpms and a decent mileage is in the offing thus making it both powerful and fuel efficient as well as compared to the existing SUV to which it will be a rival.
