Renault Duster launch rescheduled this Diwali
Renault has pushed the launch of its second SUV Renault Duster by four months. Now the Duster SUV that was anticipated in June this will be launched during the festive month of October-November. Postponement of the Duster launch to Oct-Nov will mean that the French car maker need to do an extra effort for its publicity and launch at the festive time means that it will take advantage of the maximum car buying at that time. The Renault Duster SUV is expected to be priced at Rs 8 lakh and will be competing with Mahindra SUVs and Tata Safari. Besides there will be new entrant Ford Ecosport which will be its closest rival.

Earlier as per the original schedule as mentioned by Renault on its website, the Duster launch is slated in June this year. However, a change in strategy has a large number of brains and marketing personnel behind it and it is expected that the SUV will have more prospects if launched in November than the original schedule when it was to launch in June.

What has really delayed the launch is unknown but the obvious reason should be that if it were launched in June, then the car maker had to relaunch or re market it in November as it is at this time that most of the companies launch or refresh their models. On the other hand, experts believe that a June launch would have been more profitable for Duster as by November it would have settled down and would have captured some market ahead of Ford Ecosport SUV that is also expected at that time. Still Duster prospects are not bemoaned as its configuration and performance will certainly woo the SUV car buyers in India. The K9K dCi engine proposed to power the Duster will be the centre of attraction as it outputs 108 PS which is much power for SUV of this size.
