Renault Duster launch to take place at Auto Expo, spied in Chennai
Renault Duster, the compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) that is prepared to set the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo ablaze by its unveiling, has been reported testing near its manufacturing plant in Chennai. And this has further triggered the chances that mini SUV will not merely be attending the show, but there are numerous chances of the company announcing its launch along with hatchback Renault Pulse at the event.
The SUV will have a two-wheel drive system along with a 4X4 mechanism in the top-end variant. The modish crossover that will be offered in three variants is expected to fall in the price bracket of INR 7 to 8 Lakh. Renault Duster will be in direct competition with Ford EcoSport.

The crossover that is based on the sedan Logan platform will have interiors a bit alike to it, but there are several amends that have taken place for its Indian debut as the unexciting interiors was one of the failure reasons of Logan.
Renault Duster will have a 1.6L petrol engine variant generating maximum power of 105 bhp along with two trims of 1.5L diesel engine, with one offering a peak power of 85 bhp while another 110 bhp in the top-end model. The engine will be coupled with a six speed manual transmission. Both these power-trains is to deliver decent fuel economy of nearly 20 km per litre.
The France based automaker’s production unit in Chennai will roll-out the mini-SUV and could be the manufacturing hub for Duster’s export outside India, as company plans to sell 50,000 units every year that includes domestic and overseas selling. Currently, the company sells SUV Renault Koleos and sedan Renault Fluence in the country.
