The date 4th July 2012 is desperately looked for by the SUV enthusiasts in the country. As it will mark the debut of much applauded and anticipated vehicle called Renault Duster SUV. As per the industry experts, those have taken test drive, the French carmaker is about to get its first hit in India. According to them, it has got all the needed ‘masala’ packed in itself to qualify for a real sensation that can threat Maruti Ertiga and Mahindra Scorpio. Apart from its extraordinary inside-out features, the one thing that has impressed the experts is Renault Duster price, which is expected to be Rs 7.22 Lakh (expected) for entry level petrol model and will go up to Rs 11.60 Lakh (expected) for high end diesel variants.

With such aggressive price point Renault Duster will not only blast at the SUV segment but its adverse effects will also be observed in the sedan and MPV segment that costs under Rs 10 Lakh. The newly launched compact MPV Maruti Ertiga base version is currently priced at under Rs 6 Lakh and with Renault Duster coming for Rs 7.22 Lakh, people will definitely check out compact SUV as it boasts all-round capabilities, which Ertiga lacks.

Another sharp competitor is Mahindra Scorpio; it all starts at Rs 7.29 (ex-showroom Delhi). Here in this price, the Scorpio is nearly offered feature less as this is the entry level version and an inexpensive one. Moreover, the Renault Duster price being Rs 7.22 (expected) will surely offer some exclusive and up market elements. Besides these, the consumer will get to choose from nearly 9 trims and 3 engine options.

The compact SUV Renault Duster will be launched in four phases in India, in the initial phase i.e. 4th July 2012 it will break cover at New Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Followed by Chennai and Bangalore launch on the 5th July alongside Chandigarh and Kolkata uncovering on 6th and 7th July’ 2012 respectively.
