Renault Duster: Price slashed to boost sales

Renault India, the Indian alliance of French car maker Renault has slashed the price of its recently launched generation next Duster SUV in Indian car market. The new price of Renault Duster after decline is Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom price in New Delhi). The price of new Duster at the time of launch was Rs. 8.3 lakh 9ex-showroom price in New Delhi). According to industry reports the main reason behind price curtail is due to increasing cut-throat competition in the segment Duster is receiving from Nissan Terrano and Ford EcoSport.

As reported earlier French car maker had launched the refreshed Duster in Indian car market on March 13, 2015 with some contemporary features like arm rest, multi infotainment system, gear shift indicator, cruise control and speed limiter system, newly developed steering wheel and instrument cluster, new dashboard, new fabric upholstery, speed sensitive door locking system and ECO mode feature which is for first time introduced in the segment. Offered with three engine options of 1.6 litre petrol boosting power of 103 bhp and 1.5 litre diesel engine with two power tunes of 85 bhp and 108.5 bhp, the new Duster is reported to deliver the fuel efficient performance of 19.8 kmpl by petrol variant and 19.64 kmpl by diesel version.

 As it is known that launch of Duster by French car maker set a benchmark for other SUV’s in Indian car market with its powerful performance and comfort features adhered in it. It is anticipated that this slash in price will help company in improving its sales figures and retain its strong position in Indian car market.
