Renault Duster specification revealed, mid July launch confirmed

The Renault Duster SUV which is going to set a new trend in India will be launched in mid July and there will be two petrol and four diesel models lined up for India. The variant will take the nomenclature as Renault Duster RxE, Duster RxL and RxZ in order of their being studded with features from low to high. Now that the launch date is soon to be there, the anticipation for the SUV is on the peak and some reports suggest that Renault could begin bookings for the compact SUV this week. The Renault Duster SUV price is expected to be around Rs 7 lakh and Duster launch date is yet to be announced officially by the French car maker.

The diesel Duster will be available in 85 PS and 110 PS power options with mileage delivery of 20.46 kmpl and 19.01 kmpl respectively. The maximum torque output of the 85 PS motor will be 200 Nm while that of the 110 PS motor will be 248 Nm which is good enough to push this SUV to 100 kmpl in few seconds besides the maximum torque output is at as low as 1900 rpm and 2250 rpms respectively which is low and thus the SUV will be showing up true off roading stuff as well. The 85 PS engine will be available on RxE and RxL models while the 110 PS engine option will be available on RxL and RxZ trim option.

The Duster petrol on the other hand will have a 1.6 L motor that will output 102 PS power at 5850 rpm and a peak torque of 145 Nm at 3750 rpm. This will be mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox and will offer a mileage of 13.24 kmpl. The petrol engine option will be available on Duster RxE and RxL variants.
