Renault Duster spied in Chennai

The most awaited thing has happened – it is the spotting of the Renault Duster test mule. Clad in heaviest possible camouflage, the Duster SUV was almost invisible but some car enthusiasts were able to shoot it with the camera in Chennai where the Renault Nissan joint plant is located. Notably, the Renault Duster SUV is expected to be launched this month. The Renault Duster price is expected to be Rs 7 lakh to Rs 9 lakh and it will be a close rival to Mahindra Scorpio, Tata Safari and the upcoming Ford Ecosport.

It is expected that the series of spy pics are going to increase in the coming days soon before the launch of the Duster this month. Notably, this SUV will be an addition to the compact SUV segment that has only one player till now – Premier Rio and lot so other in the pipeline – one of it will be from Maruti stable – Maruti XA Alpha. Though there are mixed reports about the Duster launch date in India as some reports suggest that it will in all probability be launched during Diwali when most of the cars will be launched in India.  

Renault has been quite aggressive in its approach and the recent launch of Renault Pulse has set it on a right path in India with the Nissan Micra based small car is fetching good numbers on the sales chart. Meanwhile, the Duster will be the second SUV by the French car maker after Renault Koleos. Renault also seems to have high hopes with this SUV as the Koleos is a premium segment SUV and could not fetch numbers for the car makers. The Duster on the other expected to be positioned in the entry level SUV segment will do good, it seems as the brand is now more or less settled, has service hubs all round India and it cars specially the Renault Fluence and Pulse are often seen on roads these days.
