Renault Duster to come powered by a new Petrol Engine and Automatic Transmission
Few days ago, the auto-giant, Renault showcased the Duster SUV on the shores of UK and announced its UK launch in the beginning of 2013. Now again, the auto-grand has disclosed an exclusive news regarding the duster. The car maker has this time announced that Renault Duster would carry a new engine and Automatic Transmission (AT) in its fleet. As per the company, this version of Duster crossover would be powered by a new 2.0 liter 4-cylinder, 16-valve, petrol engine that will have efficiency to churn peak power of 135 bhp with maximum torque of 195 Nm. Furthermore, the engine would be mated by an all new automatic transmission.

Along with the new engine and AT announcement for the Duster, the French car maker, Renault has also affirmed that initially this version would only be available in Russia and it also affirmed that so far the company is testing this version on Russian shores, prior deciding its launch in Europe and other auto-markets. However, there are no official declarations by the company regarding this 2.0 liter petrol cum AT mated version launch in Romania, where this car is sold with the name of ‘Dacia Duster’.

Earlier, this year at the Auto Expo Delhi 2012, the car maker unveiled a prototype of SUV Duster on the Indian shores too that is expected to be launched by June, this year. Duster in India is speculated to be brought in 1.6 liter petrol and 1.5 liter diesel engine options, and would come mated by a five speed manual transmission. The launch of the 2.0 liter powered Duster with AT transmission in India is still uncertain.
