Renault India Halts the Production of Fluence and Koleos
According to recent reports the French car maker Renault is going to temporarily withdraw the production of Fluence and Koleos in Indian car market due to poor sales performance and as a part of its new marketing strategy. According to the sources of company it will not focus on selling the semi-knocked products in Indian car market. This was confirmed by Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India, according to him, the French car maker has decided to not sale any product in Indian car market which is brought through semi-knocked route or in which 80% of raw material is not localise. Moving ahead he also added that now their company will concentrate of sale of best selling products like compact SUV Duster and Kwid hatchback.

Mr. Sawhney also told that these products were introduced to bridge the gap between few of the products offered by company, but unfortunately both of them could succeed in impressing the Indian buyers due to their excessive prices and less localization. Replying on the question of re-starting the production of these products, he said that until unless the company is not in position to localize 80 percent of the raw material for these vehicles they will not be seen in India.

Industry experts believe that as a part of this new strategy the French car maker will eliminate most of the products from is line-up which could not succeed in achieving the good sales due to their high price tags and less localization. On the other side the recently introduced hatchback Kwid has more than 95 percent of its machines localised in Indian car market. The success of Kwid can be understood from the face that within the short span of its launch the hatchback has succeed in retaining its position in top ten best selling cars in Indian car market since July this year.
