Renault Kiger: The New Compact SUV To Debut In The Indian Auto Expo

Going through the not-so encouraging response received by the compact SUV Triber, the French car maker Renault is readying to launch a new sub-4 meter SUV in the Indian car market. Codenamed as HBC the new vehicle is reported to be named as Kiger and is believed to be showcased during the Indian Auto Expo 2020 and launch during the second half of this year.
 
According to the sources the Kiger is basically the name of horse found in the United States of America. The new vehicle will be based on CMF-A modular platform that is also used in the compact SUV Triber and Kwid. The new vehicle is believed to the most budget-friendly vehicle in the segment.

Under the hood, it will receive the power from 1.0 liter petrol engine boosting the power of 71 bhp and the torque of 96Nm. The same engine also underpins in the Triber and Kwid. Besides, this regular engine configuration the Kiger is also believed to receive a turbocharged engine with high power and torque generation efficiency. The transmission duties will be performed by five-speed manual gear transmission system followed by an option of AMT gearbox. After launch in the Indian car market, it will go against the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Venue.
 
As far as the looks of Kiger are concerned, it is believed to carry most of its cues from Triber and the Duster. The front fascia is believed to be embellished with projector headlamps with LED DRLS, triple layered front grille with the Renault logo mounted in the middle, black plastic cladding, faux-side plate, muscular bonnet and many more. Inside the cabin it is anticipated to outsource most of its features from the Triber.
