Renault Launches Kiger With The Starting Price Of Rs. 5.45 Lakh

French carmaker Renault has launched its highly awaited compact SUV Kiger in the Indian car market with the starting price of Rs. 5.45 lakh for the entry-level trim. The top-level trim is priced at Rs. 9.55 lakh. Both the prices are ex-showroom prices in India. The company has started receiving bookings at the down payment of Rs. 11,000 and commence the deliveries from the first week of March. Developed on the company’s CMF-A+ platform the Kiger carries most of its cues from its sibling Triber and the compact SUV Nissan Magnite. It will be offered in four trims namely, RXE, RXL, RXT, and RXZ.
 
Mechanically the Kiger is offered with two engine options in the petrol variant. The one option is 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that churns the power of 71 bhp and the torque of 96 Nm. The same engine is offered in the MPV Triber. The transmission duties are performed with a five-speed manual gear transmission system, along with an option of AMT transmission system. The other engine option is a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates the power of 98 bhp and the torque of 160 Nm. The same engine performs duties in the Nissan Magnite. It also comes mated with a five-speed manual gearbox and with an option of CVT automatic transmission system.

Inside the cabin, it is embellished with the features like an eight-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, engine start-stop, climate control, steering mounted controls, dual colour scheme, rear air conditioner vents along with a 12-volt charging slot, and many more. It also receives the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
 
Speaking about the exterior features it carries the looks similar to hatchback Kwid. The front fascia receives muscular bonnet supported with a sleek twin slated chrome garnished grille, LED DRLs. The muscular bumper is equipped with a three-port headlight unit. The top-end trim is customized with a tri-octa LED pure vision headlamps. Along with this it also receives side cladding and wheel arches to retain its aggressive looks. The side profile is decorated with dual-tone alloy wheels, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, and silver roof rails. On the rear front, it is customized with a designer spoiler combined with a tailgate with Kiger logo mounted in the centre. There will be six colours to choose from Caspian Blue, Moonlight Grey, Ice Cool White, Radiant Red, Mahogany Brown, and Planet Grey.
 
It will go against the likes of Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Kia Sonet, Ford EcoSport, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, and Tata Nexon.
