Renault May Launch Lodgy MPV in Indian Car Market
It is rumored that Renault India, the Indian arm of French car maker is speculating to launch Renault Lodgy, the Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) soon in Indian car market. The curtain of Renault Lodgy was raised in 2012 during Geneva Motor Show and since then it was rumored that company will launch the same model in Indian car market. According to auto experts company may unveil Lodgy in India during Indian Auto Expo 2014.
The Indian variant of Renault Lodgy is speculated to be powered by 1.5 litre turbo diesel engine which will be surfaced by five speed manual gear transmission system. It would be interested to know that petrol variant of MPV is mounted with 1.6 litre engine. The same engine has been mounted in SPV Duster. According to auto experts availability of Lodgy in petrol variant will prove to be a beneficial deal for company in Indian car market.
It is speculated that following the same success path of Renault Duster, the success of Renault Lodgy will strengthen the position of this French auto maker in Indian car market more strongly. Industry experts speculate that the launch of new model from Renault will make competition in utility vehicle segment more rigid. One thing which is clear which is cleared from these rumors is that Renault do not wants to restrict itself only with the success of one vehicle in country and wants to explore the dimensions of its success to huge extent.
It is expected that launch of Lodgy will prove to be a tough contender for Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Enjoy from Chevrolet, Mahindra Xylo etc. As far as the price of Lodgy are concerned according to reports it would be priced something around Rs. 6.5 lakh, which will undoubtedly grab the attention of Indian car lovers.
