Renault putting in Rs. 6.5 crore in marketing during F1

The French automobile company Renault has planned of spending Rs. 6.5 crores for the F1 Grand Prix, which would be held at Greater Noida near Delhi on October 28. Renault India's Sales and Marketing Vice-President, Len Curran said that there are a lot of events coming up around the F1 Grand Prix. He stated that the company will showcase an F1 car and use race simulators to organise events at malls that will help winners get Grand Prix invites. Renault prepared campaigns with Yahoo! and tickets can be won at its showrooms as well. During the event, Renault's chairman, Carlos Ghosn, is going to reveal the concept model of the hatchback Renault is planning to launch in India, during next year's first quarter.

Curran visited Pune to unveil Renault Koleos, which is a sports utility vehicle (SUV). He assured that the demand for the Koleos is quite wonderful and the buyers might soon have to go through a waiting period for the SUV, if like its launch time this month, demand continues in October too.

Renault has announced launch of five new cars by December of next year. The first would be the mini SUV, the Duster, which would come out during the first half of the next year. Curran said that Duster will be a Indianised car, and it won't be like Dacia Duster that exists in Europe.

The French company has, till date, sold over 700 units of its luxury sedan Fluence, which was launched in May this year.Of the total sales, Diesel version accounts for about 80% share.

While Renault's big strategies in India are taking shape, the company's concept car Twizzy's sales have begun in Europe. Renault Twizzy is a coupe designed at Renault's engineering design center in Mumbai.
