Renault RBC MPV Caught Under Lenses During Test Drive
The success enjoyed by the compact SUV Duster from French car maker Renault in the Indian car market is a benchmark in the segment. Inspired from the same success, the carmaker is now all set to launch its new compact sub-4 meter MPV christened as Renault RBC in the Indian car market sometime during the upcoming festive season. The low-cost MPV from Renault will be developed on CMF-A+ platform and therefore believed to be blessed with a longer wheelbase.

Recently, the spies succeeded in capturing the sight of camouflaged RBC being tested on the roads of Chennai. As the unit of Renault RBC captured was completely covered the spies could not get an idea about the features that would be adorned in the upcoming MPV, but still captured its images to extract some idea regarding its looks and features. From the images clicked by spies, the RBC will receive aggressive front grille followed by wraparound headlamps and tail lamp clusters, stop lamp mounted at the top of tailgate.

Mechanically, the RBC would be empowered with 1.0 litre three-cylinder petrol engine, that is similar to the engine offered in top end trim of Kwid hatchback, generating the power of 68 PS and the torque of 91Nm. The transmission duties are expected to be performed by five-speed manual gear transmission system. It is speculated to offered in the price range of Rs. 4.5 lakh to Rs. 4.75 lakh (ex-showroom price) and compete against Maruti Suzuki Wagon R.
