Rush for cars dispatched prior to the budget
If you are repenting that why you haven’t bought a car prior to the Budget, it’s time to rush to the nearest car showroom as you can get the car if the dealer is selling the older stock. The new prices also do not affect those car booked prior to the Budget. Thus if you have booked New Maruti Swift Dzire before the budget, the dealer will deliver the car at the pre budget price. The new car price is for all those cars that are dispatched post March 16 and thus if you can find a dealer who has a pre-budget stock of cars, you can own the car at a much lesser price than now. Notably, due to the rise in excise duty on cars, almost all car makers including Maruti, Tata, Ford and others have increased the prices of their cars.

Significantly, the auto industry in India had picked up on the sales front starting January and the trend continued till pre-budget upto March 15. Meanwhile sales again dipped after the budget leading the car makers in a tizzy. Overall the auto sales in 2011-2012 financial year seem to remain in positive. It was earlier project to face a minus growth for the first time in last nine years.
