Salary Issue at Toyota Motors comes to an end
Finally the end of salary dispute between workers and management of Toyota Kirloskar Motors India, the Indian arm of Japanese car maker Toyota came to an end by an official announcement from the management saying to resume the work from Monday March 24, 2014. As reported earlier that as an impact of dispute between workers and management of TKM the production was halted from at company’s production unit located at Bigadi plant in Bangalore from 16th of this month after which company announced an indefinite lock out at the plant.
The decision of resuming the production from Monday was taken by management yesterday after talking with leaders of workers union and senior officers of state labour department on Thursday evening. According to sources of company decision of resuming production was taken out taking the inclination and interest of legal officers in concern. With this company has suspended 17 workers for misconduct and breaking discipline in office premises, threatening the management and intentionally destroying the office property during the protests. Apart from this company has asked the workers to give a statement in writing agreeing good conduct before beginning work from Monday, 24 March 2014.
On the other side trade union leader Mr. R. Satish has regarded the condition of writing an undertaking by company as harsh decision and has demanded the with drawl of suspension saying that company had not warned protesting employees before taking any such action for protest.
