Sales of MSIL declines: Celerio acts as Consolation

Surprisingly despite of decline in excise duty all major car makers in Indian car market have recorded decline in their sales. According to sales reports revealed  by company’s leading car manufacturing company MSIL it has recorded decline of 5.5 percent in its sales during the month of March. Comparing to sales figures of same period during last year during which company sold out 1,19,937 units as against 1,13,350 units sold this year. The exports of company also recorded decline of 8 percent, last year company exported 12,047 units whereas this year it could export only 11,081 units. With this the domestic sales of company also witnessed decline of 5.2 percent, last year company sold out 1,07,890 last year and this year it sold out 1,02,269 units.

In this terrific situation one thing which could please company that despite of sluggish sales company’s compact cars mainly recently launched Celerio, Swift, and Ritz recorded an increase of 9.3 percent. The number of compact cars sold during this year stood to 45,047 units whereas last year this figure was 40, 085. An interesting fact which needs to be specifically mention here that the major role in this sales performance was played by Celerio which recorded overall sales of 28,285 units.
