Self Driving Tata Hexa Caught Testing In United Kingdom

Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC) the European division of domestic car maker Tata Motors has started testing the self driving version Hexa SUV in United Kingdom recently.  The SUV was launched earlier this year in the Indian car market and succeed in receiving an over whelming response from Indian buyers. The testing of self driving Hexa is the part of UK Autodrive project which has been initiated by the government to encourage the use of autonomous vehicles within the country. The other partners in the project apart from TMETC are Jaguar Land Rover and Ford.

Along with the introduction of self driving car the UK Autodrive project also aims to connect the cars being running on the roads and facilitate communication between them to collect the information about the existing traffic and signals in the particular area. Besides the self driving Hexa SUV the TMETC is also working on developing the electronic version of Tiago hatchback and had unveiled the same during the month of September this year.
 
About UK Autodrive Project: The project was initiated by the then U K government back in 2015, making the start of an ambitious project of autonomous vehicles within the country in next three years. The project was partnered by Ford, Tata Motors European Technical Centre and Ford, signing the treaty to provide their vehicles for trials. The cars used during the trials will undergo understanding not only the benefits of self driven cars but also go through the tests pertaining with safety, traffic movement, environment and interconnecting the cars with each other.
