Skoda Confirms The Launch Of Karoq In April 2020

It seems that two international car makers Skoda and Volkswagen have decided to fire the battle in SUV segment, both the makers are ready to unveil the new vehicles during the upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2020 before their actual launch. According to recent reports Zac Hollis, Director, Sales, Service and Marketing, Skoda Auto India has confirmed that the company will launch the Karoq SUV in India during the month of April 2020. It will be initially offered in the petrol variant and will be brought in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
 
The Karoq is among one of the four launches that would be launched by the Czech carmaker in 2020. Another vehicle in the line-up will be Octavia RS that is proposed to be showcased during the Indian Auto Expo. However, the company will sell only 200 units of Octavia RS due to its pricing. In the words of Hollis, the bookings of Octavia will be initiated during the Auto Expo.
 
Skoda Karoq Front Low View
 
Well, speaking about the Karoq powertrain nothing has been so far revealed by the company, but it is believed to be empowered with a 1.0-liter TSI engine that boosts the power of 113 bhp and the torque of 175 Nm. There will also an option of a 1.5-liter TSI engine that will generate the power of 148 bhp and the torque of 250Nm. Both the engines will be BS-VI compliant and are already on sale in most of the SUVs in the international car market. It is reported that the carmaker might also launch the diesel variant of the SUV in the later months of 2020.
 
As far as the features that would be loaded in Karoq include a large touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cabin options of complete black and black and beige options, leather upholstered seats, dual-zone climate control and many more. After the launch in India, the SUV will go against Hyundai Tucson, MG Hector, and Jeep Compass. It is based on the MQB platform and will fill the gap of Yeti in the market.
