Czech carmaker Skoda launched its highly awaited compact SUV Kushaq in the Indian car market during the month of June this year. The company succeeded in receiving an encouraging response from the buyers and sold out more than 1,800 units of the vehicle in July 2021. It is also the first vehicle by the carmaker that is designed and developed in the country. Recently some of the buyers have reported complaints regarding the performance of the SUV through the social media platform. According to reports Zac Hollis, the Indian Director of the company has assured these buyers to resolve the issues on a priority basis.

 

 

Replying to the buyers on Facebook, Hollis said, “With any new car launch anywhere in the world from any manufacturers there will always be a few initial quality concerns. In fact Kushaq concerns are very low. That does not mean they are not serious for the customers concerned and the technical team in Europe and here in India are working round the clock to address them using all processes and protocols established over hundreds of launches in the Volkswagen Group. We have already delivered thousands of Kushaq to customers in India and have only a handful of issues. In the world of social media they always appear much more. I have even messaged these customers myself to reassure them that their concerns have the highest priority and that we will have a solution to restore their faith in the product. We stand by all our customers on any issues.”

 

Under the hood, Kushaq is available with two engine options of a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI, and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI engine. The former generates the power of 113 bhp and the torque of 175Nm, while the latter produces the power of 148 bhp and the torque of 175Nm. The transmission duties in the 1.0-litre engine are performed by a six-speed manual gearbox along with an option of a six-speed automatic transmission system. The variant with a 1.5-litre TSI engine has a seven-speed DSG gearbox.
