Sony’s Vision-S Electric Car Caught Undergoing Test Drive
With all the major carmakers in the entire world working on including the electric vehicles in their portfolio, the Japan-based conglomerate group Sony Corporation has started testing its Vision-S electric car in Austria. Earlier last year the leading technologically advanced company showcased its electric car in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 and surprised almost all the participants. Now the company has started testing its electric vehicle in Austria. Although according to reports the company is not in the mood to launch the vehicle soon in the market, and still working in integrating new features in it.
According to the company sources, the car has been developed the in-house A1 and robotics team and has been tested several times on the different terrains. The sources also revealed that the vehicle has been developed strictly according to the safety norms and regulations determined by the Japanese government. It is reported that the company plans to launch the vehicle first in the European carmaker sometimes by the end of this year, and therefore it is also working on Magna-Steyr.
As far as the engine details are concerned the company has not revealed any information except the few details. It has the length of 4,895mm, the width of 1,900 mm, and the height of 1,450mm. It has the wheelbase of 3,000 mm and the ground clearance of 120 mm. The electric car is reported to touch the mark of 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds and the top speed of 240 kmph.
Some of the other features embedded in the car are Sony’s 360 Reality Audio, based on the spatial audio technology. All the seats have in-built individual speaker, thus facilitating all the passengers to listen to the music according to the sound of their choice. It also embellishes a panoramic screen that displays a wide range of information which can be accessed sitting in the car.
