Spies capture Renault Lodgy Stepway running on Mumbai-Pune Expressway

Recently French car maker Renault displayed that first look of its highly awaited MPV Lodgy during Renault Guild Star Awards, where the keys of MPV were handed over to Indian bollywood star Hrithik Roshan from Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault Operations India. Since then the car enthusiasts in Indian car market are keenly waiting for MPV to make its official launch. It is reported that spies have witnessed the Stepway version of MPV being tested on Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The Stepway version of Lodgy witnessed by spies was showcased by the car maker during the Paris Motor Show 2014. Stepway is the top end variant of MPV and carries completely sportier look which is not found in other MPV’s existing currently in Indian car market.
 
It is anticipated that in Indian car market the MPV would be launched with one engine option of 1.5 litre four cylinder K9K engine that would be mated with five or six speed manual gear transmission system. It is reported that the MPV is soon going to make its debut in Indian car market sometimes in coming months. It is expected that MPV would be developed at company’s production plant located at Oragadam, Chennai, which is being jointly owned by Renault and Nissan. The MPV is expected to be priced between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 15 lakh and will be in straight competition with Nissan Evalia and Mahindra Xylo.
 
The version is embellished with skid plates on both front and rear profiles. The chrome grille at rear portion embellishes Lodgy badge along with sensors for rear parking mounted on rear bumper. The grille at front fascia is speculated to receive chrome garnish.
