Spies catch Tata Kite testing on roads, launch expected sometimes in 2015
With Bolt hatchback in pipeline of domestic car maker Tata Motors, the car maker is working on bringing one introducing one more hatchback in Indian car market codenamed as Kite. According to recent reports spies have witnessed the sample piece of car being tested on roads. The hatchback is expected to hit Indian roads sometimes during 2015, hopefully after the launch of its elder sibling Bolt in early months of 2015.
The new hatchback Kite is reported to be developed on the platform of Indica. The reports received from spies reveal that inside the cabin hatchback will receive small steering wheel followed by interesting features like new music system supporting connectivity with USB and AUX. On the exteriors front the hatchback carry clues from recently launched Zest sedan and upcoming Bolt Hatchback and also few of the features from Nexon, the compact SUV.
The hatchback would be offered in both petrol and diesel variants of which diesel version would be empowered with new 1.05 litre three cylinder common rail diesel engine boosting the power of 64.1 bhp and torque of 14.27 kgm. The petrol engine would be energized with 1.2 litre petrol engine, it is also anticipated to be offered with AMT transmission system. It is expected to be priced with price tag close to Rs. 4 lakh and will compete against Hyundai Grand i10 and Celerio from Maruti Suzuki.
