Suzuki Readying To Launch Upgraded Wagon-R And Vitara In Native Market

According to recent industry reports Japanese carmaker Suzuki Motors is readying to launch the generation next of compact SUV Vitara and the hatchback Wagon-R in the local market next year. It is reported that the company plans to launch the fifth-generation of Vitara in the Japanese car market sometime during January 2021. The refreshed Vitara will be based on Suzuki’s Global platform that is used in manufacturing the Vitara Brezza being sold in the Indian car market.
 
Under the hood, in its new avatar, the Suzuki Vitara will be empowered with the new 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine mated with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The engine is reported to generate the power of 130 bhp and the torque of 253 Nm. The transmission duties will include an option of selecting between manual and automatic gearbox.
 
 
Speaking about the cosmetic changes it is reported to receive completely a new design. The interior is claimed to be more spacious than its existing version. Dimensionally it will be 4.2 meters long, 1.7 meters high, and 1.7 meters broad. The wheelbase will however will the same.
 
Moving towards the refreshed Wagon-R it is reported to be launched by the end of next year. In its seventh generation, Wagon-R will be offered with an option of five-seater and seven-seater. According to reports received from the Japanese media, the company plans to launch the next generation of Alto hatchback also in 2021. The existing Alto was launched in the Japanese car market six years back in 2014. The refreshed Alto is said to be developed on a lightweight platform and empowered with a 658cc engine generating the power of 48 bhp. The generation of Alto is expected to receive vast cosmetic changes on both the exterior and interior fronts.
