Suzuki to introduce new variant of Vitara in UK

After successful launch of Vitara SUV at the onset of this year in UK market, Japanese car maker is now speculating to introduce one more variant in its fleet which will be named as Vitara S. The forthcoming model from carmaker will be powered by “Boosterjet” group of turbocharged petrol motors. In India Vitara is speculated to be showcased at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo in February next year.

The proposed variant will be powered by 1.4-liter, direct injection petrol engine which boosts the power of 138bhp and a crest torque of 220Nm at 1,500rpm to 4,000rpm mated to six-speed manual transmission system and it is expected to attain 0-100kmph speed in 10.2 seconds before topping out at 200kmph. Power will be supplied to car through the company’s Allgrip AWD System, which offers four diverse driving modes - Auto, Game, Snow and Bolt. Apart from this new variant will likewise be accessible with optional six speed automatic transmission system.

To make S variant different from existing variants, carmaker embellish Vitara S with 17-inch gloss black alloy wheels, ORVM’s garnished with satin finish, red projector covering for LED headlamps and black color moulding on side port. Inside the cabin SUV features red color stitching on seats and cushions, also air vents and aluminium combination pedals are featured with red accents.

It is reported that the company has sold more than 5,000 models of Vitara in UK powered by 1.6 petrol and diesel engine.
