Suzuki Unveils Ignis Crossover Concept ahead of Tokyo Motor Show
Japanese car maker Suzuki Motors has unveiled its Ignis Crossover quite before its actual scheduled time of unveil during upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. As described by company sources the Ignis crossover would be a 'car that can straddle the boundary between daily life and leisure'. According to reports at first instance the crossover looks like iM4 concept and carries the same design philosophy of “Shape the inspiration”. However on close watch you will find DRLs integrated on headlamps followed by newly developed side mirrors and rear bumper.

Under the hood it will be embellished with 1.0 litre turbocharged booster jet engine followed b y 1.2 litre petrol engine that would be mated SHVS technology making it a hybrid crossover. Inside the cabin you will find features like central table display for infotainment system, an automatic gearbox and dual tone dashboard. Apart from this the crossover is also reported to have significant ground clearance and might also be offered in 4 wheel drive trim as an option.
As far as Indian car market it is not sure that whether the Ignis crossover would be launched in Indian car market or not as company already is going to bring a compact SUV codenamed as YBA in Indian car market. It would be interested to know launch of YBA will start tough competition in Indian car market with domestic car maker M&M also getting ready to launch its compact SUV S101 sometimes in coming months.
