Tata 45X Concept To Be Christened As Altroz, Launch In August
Domestic carmaker Tata Motors has finally revealed the name of its proposed hatchback showcased as 45X Concept during the Indian Auto Expo held last year. Now according to recent reports, the hatchback will be named as Tata Altroz and is slated for the launch most probably during the month of August this year. Prior to this, the carmaker will showcase the production version of the hatchback during the Geneva Motor Show 2019. After launch in the Indian car market, the Altroz will compete against the key leaders like Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20.

Developed on the new IMPACT DESIGN 2.0 platform, the Tata Altroz will be offered with two petrol engine options of 1.2 litre, 3 cylinder naturally aspirated engine and 1.2 litre 3 cylidner turbocharged engine, outsourced from Tiago and Nexon respectively. The transmission duties would be performed by six-speed manual gearbox system, followed by six-speed dual-clutch gearbox as an option. The company has also released the teaser image of Altroz, giving the glimpse of its looks.
On the exterior front, Altroz will be equipped with the sleek front grille embellishing sweptback headlamp cluster, new tail lights, flared wheel arches, tri-arrow fog lamps. Inside the cabin, it will be offered with the large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, instrument cluster with digital display, and a multi-functional steering wheel.
